INCAD

IATA (International Air Transport Association) has drawn up a standard medical certificate for the carriage of disabled passengers: the INCAD (Incapacitated passenger handling advice) provided by the carrier.
Incad 1 and 2 are certificates to be completed by the patient’s regular doctor, destined for the airline’s doctor and the Air Caraïbes special cases service which, based on the statements, will authorise, or not, the journey.

It is mandatory to notify the company if the passenger:

  • Suffers from a contagious and transmissible disease,
  • Presents an illness or disability that may cause unusual behaviour,
  • Presents a physical condition that may cause discomfort to the welfare or comfort of passengers and crew,
  • May represent a potential hazard to flight safety or cause a diversion,
  • May require medical attention or equipment for the maintenance of good health during the flight.
