THE TRANSPORT OF DANGEROUS GOODS ONBOARD AN AIRCRAFT IS ILLEGAL AND SUBJECT TO SANCTIONS.

The materials, as they are presented to the transport, risk to explode, to react dangerously, to produce a flame, a dangerous release of heat, a dangerous emission of gas or corrosive, flammable or toxic vapors in the conditions normally met during the air transport.

  • Lighters, matches... are prohibited in luggage as they ignite with friction.
  • Inflammable liquids (Petrol, paint, solvent and gas, inflammable liquids such as lighter and camping gas recharges, can spill or ignite).
  • Fireworks (Flares, firecrackers and other explosives can detonate due to their sensitive nature).
  • Household products (Washing powder and in pastille, Bleach, hydrogen peroxide, many aerosols, mercury, detergent containing dangerous chemicals able to cause corrosion and toxic smoke).

This list of dangerous materials is clearly not exhaustive.

Air Caraïbes makes the following recommendations to avoid luggage problems:

  • Write your name and address on the outside and inside of your luggage. Make sure the name on the luggage label is identical to the name on the air ticket.
  • Remove all luggage labels after each flight.
  • Keep all valuables and/or important documents on you.
  • Lock your luggage and do not overfill.
  • Remember that all fragile items and/or perishable food are carried at your own risk.
  • Do not accept any item or luggage from another person.
  • Take out additional insurance.
